Credit Application

        We are pleased to consider open account status for credit worthy customers upon receiving a Credit Application.  Also, we will accept charge card payments over the phone but only after receiving a Credit Card Authorization form.  Links to various credit documents are provided below.

        Credit References:  We will provide credit information on our customers to other sellers.  You must first obtain the customer's Allen Electric account number.  This requirement is for the protection of our customer's privacy and security.  The account number appears in the upper right hand corner of our invoices and is formatted as 99-99999.  Credit information must be requested on-line at www.allenelectric.com/creditref.

        Sales Taxes:  Please note that we charge sales tax on all shipments made within the state of Michigan, except in the event of a valid claim of exemption such as for industrial processors, governmental bodies, non-profits, etc.  If you claim exemption, you must file a Tax Exemption Certificate with us.

        Contractor Purchases & Sales Tax:  Contractors should be aware that, with very few exceptions, they are required to pay sales tax on all of their purchases.  This generally includes material for use in industrial processing unless a valid blanket exemption certificate for a particular job is filed with us.  Also, exemptions may be available for nonprofit hospitals, qualified nonprofit housing, church sanctuaries and qualified water or air pollution control facilities provided an appropriate exemption certificate is filed with us.  Material purchased for schools, including public universities, is always taxable.  If you would like a clearer understanding of the Michigan Sales Tax regulations click on the following links to Michigan Department of Treasury bulletins:

2. The credit application should be filled in, signed and mailed to us.  If you are in a rush, you may fax it to (734) 421-0186.  But, we still require that you return the original signed document to us by regular mail.  Our address is at the top of the form.
